Rules And Guidelines For FilmScope Entries
Thank you for being interested in contributing to FilmScope. It is our hope to create a dialogue for movie lovers such as ourselves. One of those ways is through your contributions to the website. We will accept contributions for Essays and Commentaries only. All other posts are explicitly performed by members of the FilmScope staff. If you wish to become a FilmScope volunteer staff writer, please see the criteria below.
Essays and Commentary can be written about anything, as long as they have something to do with film or the motion picture history. FilmScope does not take political stances, have no gender, racial, or orientation bias, but will not deny submissions on such subjects on that basis alone. Submissions will be rejected for, but not constrained to, perverse offensive language or content, plagerism, or content that does not meet subject criteria.
FilmScope has the right to reject or accept submissions received. Upon acceptance, FilmScope has the right to proofread and make changes to submissions. Once these changes have been made, FilmScope will return edited document to submitter for Final Approval. If Submitter approves, the submission will be published at a date and time of FilmScopeās discretion.
While FilmScope has an open policy of submissions, we insist that whatever submissions be original and meant solely for use of FilmScope. The only exception we will make is for other small websites and bloggers who want to promote their own material. While we will not automatically remove except in the most extreme cases, we will reject any future submissions from that contributor.
The rules can be amended in the future determined by the needs of FilmScope.
Potential Staff Writers for FilmScope must understand that as for right now, it is strictly volutary, but that it could change as circumstances change. We are based out of Houston, Texas. Being in the vicinity is a plus, but not a disqualifying factor. Must be able to provide a portfolio of work for consideration, does not have to related to film. Must also write an original Commentary or Essay and a Film Review of any movie of your choosing.
